When Breaking the Rules Accelerates Creative Velocity

We are taught that compliance and abiding by rules is good behavior. However, innovators know that's not entirely true.

What once seemed like a good idea may now be outdated and undesirable.

Creative Disruption and Creative Destruction are two rule-breaking techniques that help uncover novel solutions and allow businesses to evolve with the changing times.

Over our lifetimes, we will see inventors, companies, and even governments that see the need to change the rules of engagement. For example, the pandemic was a catalyst for companies to challenge the status quo, bend some rules, or create new ones. Scientific or technological discoveries also render old ways of working irrelevant.

Businesses that are married to their longstanding ways of activating employees or interacting with customers will be displaced by those companies that are willing to adapt to changing times. In particular, customers will almost always move to the most efficient and cost-effective solution to maximize the value they receive.
